Pastries and Perspectives: Speakers from the Legal Community and Beyond

333 Bush Street, 30th Flr, San Francisco, CA

Professor Jeffrey L. Fisher
Stanford Law School

We are delighted to invite you to the first discussion in Heller Ehrman's "Pastries and Perspectives" speakers series, an occasional series of discussions with members of the legal community, academia, the media and others on a range of topics of interest.

As our first speaker, we are proud to welcome Professor Jeffrey L. Fisher, Associate Professor of Law at Stanford University. Professor Fisher is a leading Supreme Court litigator and has argued landmark cases, including Blakely v. Washington and Crawford v. Washington. This term, he argued two cases before the Supreme Court, one regarding the punitive damages award in the Exxon Valdez case, and the other addressing whether the death penalty for a defendant convicted of child rape constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. The Supreme Court has not yet issued decisions in these cases, but decisions are expected shortly.

Please join us for breakfast on Wednesday, June 18 at 9 a.m. to welcome Professor Fisher and kick off our Pastries and Perspectives speaker series.
