Brett Dick joined the firm as a Shareholder in 1993 and practices tax law, including partnerships, financing, leasing, real property, corporate, and tax treaties.
Mr. Dick focuses on international tax, concentrating on transactions involving foreign entities doing business in the United States, including foreign government agencies. He deals extensively with Southeast Asian clients as well as U.S. taxpayers doing business abroad. Mr. Dick’s expertise is in the structuring of international transactions and tax planning, and therefore includes the taxation of foreign governments and international organizations. Among Mr. Dick’s clients are major government-linked and Asian investment fund clients. He has also represented numerous foreign countries in Southeast Asia.
Mr. Dick writes for various professional journals and educational organizations. He lectures on the subject of partnerships, international tax planning, intercompany pricing and advanced pricing agreements at conferences sponsored by the World Trade Institute, the University of Southern California Law Center, state and national bar associations, among others. He is the author of the BNA Tax Management Portfolio Publication, U.S. Income Taxation of Foreign Governments, International Organizations and Their Employees.
